My First Blog Post!

Eeep! It’s finally happening! I don’t know why it’s taken me so long to sit down and start working on my blog, it’s been on my mind for what seems like forever! I guess there is nothing like the New Year to get yo’ butt into gear, am I right??

A BIT ABOUT ME:

If you are new here, welcome! My name is Akela – pronounced like “tequila” but without the “t”. I am a full-time Marketing Coordinator with a full-time passion for designing and special events. That passion has led me to a side hustle I have lovingly named Akela Clark Designs. I work in the paper and signage world for your special events, specializing in hand-lettering and design.

This blog will include parts of that life; tips and tricks on wedding paper, how to include a plus-one on an envelope, when to send your save the dates, etc. But in the past year a new love has presented itself to me, planning events! Now, I’m not talking about full-fledged weddings, I’m more interested in helping you plan your very own baby shower, bridal shower or birthday party! And more importantly, planning that party on a budget!

A BIT ABOUT THIS BLOG:

This blog will dive into the many themes out there for the special moments in your life, and how you can tackle them head-on without draining your bank account. I will be including some real-life parties I have planned myself, and what they may have taught me. I will also be including free downloads for items I have personally created for use at my own parties. Saving you time and money!

Each post will be chalk-full of DIYs, free printable and (hopefully) everything you need to help feel comfortable enough to through your very own party on a budget!

I’m so excited to go on this journey with you! Like I said, it’s been a long time coming! Thank you so much for being here and I hope you will continue to find useful information and be inspired with each new post!

So, give me a reason to celebrate, I dare ya!

hand-lettered "xo,"

Akela
